Very filling, delicious and flavorful. Chipotle for Indian food. I got the butter chicken tikka masala but my coworkers spoke highly of it the green chicken.
The food was decent overall, but the spice level was disappointing. Even their spiciest sauce had almost no heat. If you enjoy authentic spicy Indian food, this may not be the best spot for you. The goat protein was soft, tender, and well-cooked. However, I wasn’t impressed with the brown basmati rice. I expected long-grain basmati with light, separate grains, but instead the rice was sticky and the grains were short.
I got the chana masala and paneer with butter masala sauce, with cilantro rice and jeera rice. the flavor is mild, I added more salt to my food because a desi person I prefer a stronger masala taste. food was spicy, not crazy spicy though. The aloo samosa was spicy but good. everyone is very friendly and service is quick. I spent $20 for my bowl with 2 samosas. Might come here again if I am craving comfort food but would love a stronger masala flavor, but maybe it's made in a way to please a variety of a crowd. One thing I do wish they advertise is that their meat is HALAL, I asked the employees several times (though i didn't check if they had a certificate)
I recently visited Tikkaana Restaurant and had a great experience. The food was authentic, flavorful, and well prepared especially the curries and tandoori items. The ambiance was pleasant, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy quality Indian cuisine in Houston. Highly recommend!
Clean and well lit tunnel restaurant. Staff is friendly. 4.5 out of 5 for downtown Houston tunnel Chai tea. Works like a Indian food Chipotle style service. Very modern. Spicy food and savory food. Fried food and rice. Try it out.
This place will be my regular for Indian food! Service was quick , it’s chipotle style ordering and you can pick your base rice , protein ( there’s veggie options like tofu , chickpea , paneer), many sauces and toppings! I wanted something simple so I got cilantro rice , tofu, green chicken and butter masala as a “ sauce” . The guys were really quick in setting up my bowl and checking me out! I got a large amount for $12.93!!! Which is super affordable for downtown. Place itself is easy to find , it’s very brightly lit - a bit overly sterile, but hey they just opened up! Would like to see more decor - but not a big deal!
I recently visited Tikkaana and the food and customer service was great! It reminds me of an Indo fusion form of Chipotle or Bullritos where you pick your rice, meat, toppings, and sauce with a cool twist. The bowl was very flavorful and filled with many different spices to make the palate happy. The staff was very accommodating in making sure that they gave suggestions on what to pair with what. The only suggestion I would have is to have more options for toppings so there can be a wide variety. I will definitely be going back. I might stop in today!
Food was delicious. Love the halal options. Snacks and tea were nice. Friendly staff.
